Shelves for massage oils and candles emerge from the wall, grounding the lucky clients by drawing attention to the sturdiness and functionality of the architecture. Anna forms the shelves with layer upon layer of cob,
and then covers them with the monolithic fine finish plaster that unites the whole studio. This private massage studio, covered with an earthen plaster thick enough to provide acoustic insulation, is the embodiment of comfort and relaxation. We utilized cob to vault the entry hallway, softening the transition into the space. The texturally rich walls, with shining mica and straw, tactile curves, and a rich earthy brown clay base, awakens in all who enter thier connection to their physical surroundings.
